OUR HISTORY:
Times were tough during the Great Depression, but a Burlington banker believed neighbors should be able to protect what matters most. In 1933, James Mangold, Sr. founded Mangold Insurance to provide quality coverage when it was difficult to obtain. His son, James Mangold, Jr., continued the family tradition in 1959, followed by James Mangold III in 1998. In 2026, Stephen Quist—nephew and fourth-generation leader—became president. Today, Mangold Insurance remains family-owned with 17 employees, serving clients in more than ten states and standing as one of the area’s largest independent insurance agencies—still guided by the same principle: neighbors helping neighbors. |

Our responsibilities as neighbors also extend to the community. We proudly participate in the education of our local youth, including giving insurance presentations to business classes. We give our time and financial support to the 4H livestock auctions at several local County Fairs, Burlington High School Athletic Association, as well as many other youth clubs and activities. Our staff members volunteer in many non-profit & civic organizations including Kiwanis, Love Inc., Experience Burlington and many other yearly community events.
In 2019 we joined forces with Robertson Ryan & Associates, a Top 100 US Insurance Agency based in Milwaukee. Mangold Insurance remains locally owned and controlled by the Mangold family and our commitment to the community has not changed. Our partnership with Robertson Ryan allows us to expand the insurance programs and resources that we can bring to you.
