Commercial Coverage

Everything your business needs under one roof

We write commercial coverage for contractors, manufacturers, retailers, service businesses, and everything in between — across Wisconsin and Illinois.

📋

Business Owner's Policy (BOP)

A BOP bundles general liability and commercial property into one affordable policy — the smart starting point for most small and mid-size businesses.

  • General liability included
  • Commercial property included
  • Business interruption coverage
  • Equipment breakdown option
  • Often cheaper than buying separately
👥

Workers' Compensation

Required by law in both Wisconsin and Illinois for most businesses with employees. We make sure your policy meets state requirements and protects your people.

  • WI & IL state compliance
  • Medical expense coverage
  • Lost wage replacement
  • Employer's liability
  • Multi-state coverage options
🚗

Commercial Auto

Personal auto policies don't cover vehicles used for business. Whether you have one work truck or a fleet, we write commercial auto coverage that protects your operation on the road.

  • Commercial trucks & vans
  • Fleet coverage
  • Hired & non-owned auto
  • WI & IL compliant
  • Trailers & equipment in transit
🏢

Commercial Property

Your building, inventory, equipment, and furniture are your business assets. Commercial property coverage protects them against fire, theft, weather, and more.

  • Building & tenant improvements
  • Business personal property
  • Inventory & stock
  • Equipment & machinery
  • Business interruption / income
🌈

Commercial Umbrella

When a single claim exceeds your underlying policy limits, a commercial umbrella picks up where those policies stop. Essential for growing businesses.

  • Extends GL, auto & employer's liability
  • $1M–$10M available
  • Often required by contracts
  • Cost-effective protection
How We Work With Business Clients

More than a broker.
A real business partner.

If your current broker auto-renews your policy without a conversation, sends a junior account rep, or puts you on hold at claim time — you have a vendor, not a partner. Here's what working with Mangold actually looks like.

The national broker / call center
The Mangold experience
📞  A different person every time you call
👤  One agent who knows your business by name
📋  Auto-renewed without a review or a call
📅  Annual in-person review — we come to you
🏙️  Account managed from a city you've never visited
🏘️  Burlington-based agents who know your market
📞  Call center at claim time — good luck
🤝  We work the claim with you, start to finish
🔒  One carrier's products at one carrier's price
🛒  100+ carriers competing for your business
🤝

We meet in person

We come to your facility. We walk your floor. We understand your operation before we write a single line of coverage. That's how we find the gaps your current broker missed — and how we make sure your policy actually fits your business.

📞

You get a direct number

Not a 1-800 number. Not a ticket system. Your agent's direct line. When a claim hits on a Friday afternoon or a certificate needs to go out in an hour, you call one number and a real person answers — someone who already knows your account.

📊

Annual in-person reviews

Your business changed this year. Did your insurance? We sit down with every business client before renewal — reviewing exposures, checking limits, and making sure your coverage grew with your business. No auto-renewal without a conversation.

🎯

We manage your total cost of risk — not just your premium

Most brokers hand you a policy and walk away. We dig deeper. We review your safety programs to reduce claims before they happen. We read your contracts to make sure your insurance aligns with what you've agreed to. We model deductible structures to find the right balance between premium and retained risk. We look at your loss history and claims trends — and every year we build a custom renewal marketing strategy tailored to your business, so carriers compete for your account on your terms, not theirs.

Compliance & Coverage Questions

Business insurance questions we hear most

Not necessarily. Many commercial policies can be written to cover multi-state operations, especially for general liability and commercial auto. Workers' compensation is more complex — each state has its own funds and requirements. We're licensed across the United States and handle multi-state commercial coverage regularly for businesses operating across state lines.
A BOP (Business Owner's Policy) bundles general liability and commercial property into one policy at a lower combined premium than buying them separately. It also usually includes business interruption coverage. The tradeoff is that BOPs have eligibility requirements and coverage limits — larger or higher-risk businesses may need standalone policies with higher limits.
Yes — this is very common for contractors and service businesses. We can write GL policies at $1M/$2M or higher, and if needed, a commercial umbrella policy can stack on top of a $1M GL policy to reach the required combined limit. We'll make sure the certificate of insurance (COI) is issued correctly to meet your client's requirements.
There's no flat rate — premiums depend on your industry, revenue, payroll, number of vehicles, claims history, and the coverage limits you carry. A small home-based business might pay a few hundred dollars a year for general liability, while a contractor with crews, vehicles, and equipment will pay more. Because we're independent, we shop your business across 100+ carriers to find the right coverage at the best available price, then explain exactly what's driving the number.
If a judgment exceeds your liability limit, you're personally on the hook for the difference — which can put your business and even your personal assets at risk. That's why we review your real exposure instead of just selling a minimum policy, and often recommend a commercial umbrella to add $1M+ of protection for a relatively small premium. We'd rather right-size your coverage now than have you discover the gap during a claim.
